<p><em>Okay, I'm going to try to contain my excitement about the word "tartlet" and focus on the actual dish.&nbsp; Which is really difficult because I wildly love the word tartlet.&nbsp; A tiny tart.&nbsp; What could be better?&nbsp; Maybe the fact that the recipe comes from Martha, but does not require 43 steps to full fruition.&nbsp; I thought this was hearty &amp; wholesome &amp; delicious &amp; perfect for late Autumn. &nbsp;&nbsp;</em>&nbsp;</p>

She has a true foody spirit, and I'll never forget when she made me lunch out of nothing in her Phoenix kitchen.&nbsp; About the pretzels, she gives this advice: "They're best with a smudge of Dijon. Just don't boil them too long--they'll turn into really-old-man-skin looking piles o' dough. This one survived after a brief boil and then a browning in the oven.
